Before I met Indie I already had a dog named Foxy. For 11 years now, she has been by my side. From Switzerland to Mauritius, living alone with me and then surrounded by 60 other dogs, Foxy adapted very quickly to her changes, accepting one after the other all the dogs in our lives. With Indie, the current is immediately passed, just like me, she loved him from a single glance, since he is very small she cleans him and teaches him the dog codes. Foxy is my example, my friend, my pillar, she understands my emotions and knows me by heart!
With each dog I meet a bond is created, a strong connection. They are my source of energy, the desire and the courage to continue despite the fatigue, despite all my disappointments in front of so much cruelty.
People often tell me that these dogs are lucky to have crossed my path… But believe me, I am the lucky one to be able to share their daily life!
Barack was the first dog I treated in Mauritius. He had the parvorirus (gastro) and was in a serious state of distress. We fell in love immediately. There is a unique and incredible bond that is created during a rescue, we are linked for life. I have lost dogs in my journey but one thing is for sure, I was born surrounded by animals and I will leave surrounded by animals because I cannot see my life without them.
Ever since I was a little girl I was taught that a dog is a guardian of the house. When I arrived at Indie’s World, I was not afraid but I did not have any particular affection for dogs. Gradually my view changed, I became attached to them, I am sad to see them leave when they are adopted. My way of treating my dogs has also changed, I am much more attentive to their needs!
