Indie’s World is recognized as a charitable institution, dedicated to the protection and rescue of stray dogs in distress. Victims of accidents, mistreatment or disease, these dogs often arrive polytraumatized and vulnerable.
Our mission is to give them a fresh start through :
In Switzerland and France, Indie’s World is a non-profit association that plays a key role in developing and supporting the shelter in Mauritius.
Its aim: to mobilize a committed community to give rescued dogs a second chance.
Our actions :
Raising awareness, educating and acting for a better future
We believe that information and action are the keys to change. Our mission is to raise awareness and share our knowledge to improve animal protection and welfare.
– Raising public awareness of dog care and education
– Organizing prevention workshops on abandonment and mistreatment
– Encouraging harmonious cohabitation between humans and animals
– Implement effective and sustainable sterilization campaigns
– Collaborate with associations and government bodies for concrete actions
– Promote an ethical and responsible approach to animal management
The arrival at the shelter is an upheaval for these dogs, often marked by fear and suffering. For the first time, a human being is looking after them, offering them care and affection. A first bond is forged, fragile but hopeful.
After a period of observation and clinical assessment, sick or injured dogs are cared for in collaboration with our veterinary partners. In the absence of suitable hospitalization facilities, our team mobilizes day and night to provide them with the care they need to survive.
Precise, patient work: wound care, administering medication, re-feeding, re-hydrating, changing bandages… Every gesture counts and can make the difference between life and death.
Total commitment: between travel, care and the search for funding, each treatment represents an immense challenge. But for our team, there’s only one rule: never give up, and do everything in your power to give them a second chance!
Goal : restore their full health and strength.

Once they’ve been cured and are fitter and more confident, the dogs gradually integrate their group. But this transition isn’t always easy: everyone has to find their place, learn to live together and adapt to the personalities already present. This is a key stage where the balance of the group must be preserved.
Observation and adjustment: our team maintains calm and discipline, assessing interactions to prevent conflict and ensure harmonious integration.
Tailor-made training: thanks to our collaboration with the Dog Training & Rehabilitation Unit, we teach dogs the essential basics, promote their socialization and prepare them for family life.
Our mission: to give them every chance of blossoming and being adopted into a loving home.
The aim: to give them back their unshakeable health.
