Today, the Indies World shelter is home to 227 dogs.<\/div>
It’s a huge number, and above all a huge responsibility.<\/div><\/div>
Over the past few weeks, we have been receiving numerous calls for :<\/div>
– dog accidents near the shelter<\/div>
– abandonment in front of the gate or on the wall<\/div>
– dogs in great distress seen by vets<\/div><\/div>
Saying no is heartbreaking. Every situation touches us deeply. <\/div>
But to guarantee the well-being, care and attention of the 227 dogs already in our care, we have to make a difficult but necessary decision: we can’t take in any more new dogs for the time being.<\/div><\/div>
This choice is neither a lack of heart, nor a lack of interest.<\/div>
On the contrary, it’s an act of responsibility towards our current residents.<\/div><\/div>
